Mike Verdeja has been fishing Lake Mille Lacs for over twenty years, the past nine of which he has spent professionally guiding. Growing up with a passion for fishing, he got his start as a guide under Terry McQuoid and McQuoid’s Guide Service in 2010, starting his venture into his own guiding business in 2018.
Specializing in Smallmouth Bass and Walleye, Mike has extensive knowledge of the fishery. Along with offering summer and winter guide services on Mille Lacs he also spends time guiding in the Northern portion of the state in the Orr and Vermillion Lake areas and works seasonally river guiding in Alaska.
Outside of Walleye and Bass fishing he also enjoys chasing panfish, Muskie, trout, and salmon.
We are partnered with a number of local guides and can accommodate groups of all sizes, including private launch services. Contact us for more information.
Tyler Gottula hails from Oklahoma, where he spends his fall and winters running his successful waterfowl hunting lodge and hunt club. He knew, from as long as he remembers, that he wanted to work in the hunting and fishing industry. He started his hunting guide business immediately after graduating from high school. Spending all of his spare time fishing, he knew it was another career route he had to follow. He began guiding Bass, Striper, Hybrid, and Crappie fishing in 2006. He transitioned into guiding Largemouth Bass trips in 2015 at the famous Lake Fork in Texas. His talent has caught the eye of many in the industry and he’s a Pure Fishing (parent company of Berkley, Abu Garcia, Spiderwire, Trilene, Pflueger Fishing) sponsored angler. Being keenly in tune with the industry and professional fishing, he quickly saw that Lake Mille Lacs was a place he had to be. It, almost immediately, became a place he knew he wanted to make a staple in his fishing and guiding career, and Tyler started guiding on Mille Lacs from there. He’s had amazing success, both personally and professionally, on this lake during the Spring and Summer seasons.
Tyler is truly someone who has devoted his entire life, and shaped his career, around his love for the outdoors and desires to share it with everyone he meets. Tyler specializes in Smallmouth bass but can also guide other species. A good time, filled with lots of laughs and fishing tips are promised! Check Tyler out on Instagram @tylergottulafishing.
